Images, video, and media — scored by waste impact.
Media Optimization
Media files are the single largest contributor to page weight. Oversized images without modern compression (WebP, AVIF) account for most slow page loads. Images missing explicit width and height attributes cause layout shifts (poor CLS). Videos without poster images delay rendering. EchoBat's Media Health lens analyzes every media asset on your site, scores each by "waste impact," and surfaces the biggest optimization opportunities first.
How It Works
EchoBat's crawler records every media asset it encounters: images, videos, and audio files. The Media Health lens computes a "waste score" for each based on file size relative to display dimensions, format efficiency, and missing optimizations. Issues are ranked by waste impact — the largest potential savings surface first. The lens merges data from asset weight analysis, image optimization checks, alt text audits, CLS risk detection, and video optimization analysis.
Why It Matters
- Biggest optimization wins surfaced first by waste score
- Catch missing WebP/AVIF adoption across the entire site
- Layout shift prevention via missing dimensions detection
- Combined image, video, and audio analysis in one lens
